Tutorial Tuesday: Striped Easter Eggs

So things have been a bit crazy around here. We put our house on the market last month, and sold it in two days. After weeks of house hunting we decided that we are going to build our next house. But it won't be done until August, and we need to be out of our current house in May. So we will be living with family this summer, and I won't be able to have my studio set up during that time. And with packing up our current house and trying to keep up with my kids' crazy schedules it's getting harder to keep up with orders, so my shop will be closing this week. (All open orders will be shipped asap.) I will be re-opening sometime this fall after we've moved into our new house and after my kids start school. So if there's something you really need be sure to order right away! And thank you all so much for your support!

I'll try to keep up with the blog if time allows.

This week I want to share the cutest Easter eggs with you. These darling striped Easter eggs are super cute, and easy to do too!

You can find instructions here.

Tutorial Tuesday: Charging Station

This week I'm featuring a charging station tutorial from Sew-Mad.

When my cell phone is charging
it generally has to sit
on my kitchen or bathroom counter
in order to be out of reach of little hands.
And I'm always worried that it will get wet.
This charging station would solve that problem perfectly!

What a brilliant idea!

Tutorial Tuesday: Valentine Boxes

Valentine's Day is next week!
Some of you, like me, may have children
who are supposed to decorate their own Valentine box.

There's always a contest for the best box,
so we feel some pressure to do something extra special.
Here are some fun ideas from my Valentine's Day page on Pinterest!

I absolutely love this Monster Box!

These cereal box Valentine holders are easy to make.

This basketball Valentine hoop is so fun, and this link has several other ideas too.

Tutorial Tuesday: Ruffle Scarf

Today I want to share a little tutorial that I think is especially cute! And perfect for the winter that is finally here (not that I minded our unusually warm winter the past few months!!!).

Today's tutorial is a ruffle scarf from Pink Lemonade.

What do you think? Is it not one of the cutest scarves ever?!

New stamp set: Urban font

Did you notice?
Several weeks ago I added a new font to our font page!
Our new urban font is my new favorite.
It's not a tiny font so it won't work on our original family circle necklace,
but it will work on the large family circle,
and most of our other designs.

What do you think?

PS Christmas is only 6 1/2 weeks away! Please try to get your Christmas orders in early, because I'm always swamped as it gets closer. Our deadline for Chrismas orders with regular shipping will be Thursday, December 1st.
Ready to shop? Come stop by right now!

New, our Angel Memorial Necklace

A few months ago I had a customer come to me with a request. She said:
My 16 month old niece died this morning. Her poor family is torn apart, her mother has already had several late pregnancy miscarriages and this little angel was their last (of four). She arrived with severe mental and physical handicaps but she's been a piece of heaven for all that knew her. Her two sisters are grieving especially hard. I wanted to give all three girls a sister's necklace and incorporate the idea of angel, if possible.

My heart went out to this sweet family.

My own sister lost a child at birth and I remember how helpless I felt at the time, nothing I could do would make it better. And losing a child is the most difficult thing I can imagine having to go through!

It was a privilege being able to design a necklace for this sweet family.

Our new Angel Memorial Necklace incorporates two little domed discs that fit together to make a locket. An angel is stamped on the front, with a name and heart charm inside. ( If you'd like to order this necklace without the angel we can also just stamp a heart on the front.)

We hope that this necklace is something meaningful,
something that might help the tiniest bit for someone in need of comfort.

You can find the necklace here.
